Cottage Accommodations
Heiveld Farm Cottages offers two types of self-catering units: Standard Cottage and Comfort Cottage. The Comfort Cottage features a super comfy bed and a large clawfoot bathtub in the bedroom. Both cottages include a living area with an indoor braai (barbecue), two bedrooms, a bathroom with a walk-in shower, hairdryer, and outdoor furniture. Some units overlook the garden and mountain views.
Dining
There are no restaurants or breakfast options on-site or nearby. Guests must bring their own food and supplies. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and barbecue facilities. A picnic area and outdoor fireplace are available for alfresco meals.
Leisure
Heiveld Farm Cottages provides hiking and cycling trails through the surrounding Ceres mountains. The rock formations are a highlight, and a dam on the property offers a place to cool off after a hike. A mini golf course is also available on-site. Guests can relax in the garden or on the terrace.
Location
Located in Ceres, South Africa, the property is 200 km from Cape Town International Airport. Free on-site private parking is available. The area is remote, so a car is essential. From the cottages, guests can access hiking and cycling trails directly. Nearby attractions include the Ceres mountain range and rock formations.
Amenities
Heiveld Farm Cottages offers free Wi-Fi in the rooms, but mobile data signal (Vodacom) is weak. The property includes family rooms, non-smoking rooms, and fire extinguishers. There is no concierge or room service. Check-in is easy, with the owner communicating in advance. Guests are self-supporting for all needs.
“The setting is quite something; the natural environment and quietude here are profoundly restorative, and the hiking trails, particularly with their striking rock formations, invite exploration. Cottages are thoughtfully appointed, feeling both authentic and comfortable, with generous living spaces and surprisingly well-equipped kitchens that necessitate self-sufficiency given the remote beauty. A truly well-kept farmstead that makes for a peaceful, grounding stop.”
